I don't think those are one in the same. I'm sure the potion type in this event are quite common, but how strong they are made depends on the person making them.

We never really looked at the guy closely, and with all that's going on in the Saucer, do you think we really can tell the difference between deep sleep and death?

EDIT: He was also asleep for what...an hour or two? And didn't need an antidote to wake. So I'll put my money on a potent sleeping potion.

Something longer lasting. The potions we make only last around 7 minutes of game time.
