Really, no one cares if you're going to pay or not pay. Nor will the capades of cheap people or "smart" people (for not paying for an unfinished productlol) really push that much away from paying for something they enjoy. People who post this same crap are obviously hurt that soon they wont be able to pay for XIV.

As others have said at this point nobody cares, I'm not even sure SE are overly concerned hence why Yoshi said if you don't feel you want to pay for it.. don't.

I'm sure they would rather get the money than not but I doubt they are guna worry too much especially as the game has been F2P for the last 12 months.

i do know that i would have played the game more--if it were a better game.

most players don't bother with the forum boards--and given the greeting any dissension causes, i kind of understand why. the only reason i logged on is because a friend told me that commenting on the upcoming premature subscriptions may change the mind of the powers that be and that i should "speak now or forever hold your peace."

i do want the game to get better--there is a lot that i like. but simple things (such as the fact that my spellcaster can't simply fire off a spell without making a macro [and how long has Square been patching/updating this game?]) have got to change before i will pay for this.

paying a sub may make sense to others now. and i understand that.

I'm probably repeating something that's been said at least five times per page in the locked thread that this was spawned to reincarnate, but I didn't read that one.

Then don't pay. They're totally expecting to lose a large portion of their player base with the start of subscriptions. Posting about it isn't going to convince them to change their mind.

Nobody is asking anyone to pay for something that they don't think is worth paying for. If you don't want to pay until 2.0, then don't.

All they've said is that they're not going to provide 1.20, 1.21, and 1.22 for free. They haven't threatened to delete anyone's character or any other way of forcing you to pay for a game that you don't feel is worth paying for.

[edit] I make no value judgments about whether or not you choose to pay, and I mean no hostility to your decision. The only thing that I disapprove of is the sense of indignation that people seem to come to the forums with that SE would dare stop giving away the game for free.
