I should've specify it more. Anyway the weather axe is a level 1 axe that you need to equip. If it's any other axe that is above level 1 you can't change to MRD because your MRD has to start at level 1 and doesn't have sufficient leave to equip above level 1 axe.

In order to begin life as a Marauder as a secondary job, the first step is to accept a quest from Blauthota in the Coral Tower. Secondary jobs typically have you talk with the Guild Receptionist, who gives you a spiel about the great history of the Guild. After that they ask if you want to join up. When you say yes, you get to go speak to Wyrnzoen and receive the Weathered War Axe. Equip the axe (which typically leaves you in your underclothes), finish the quest and then begin the typical guild quests.

    Have fun with it.

Step 7 and 8 were a joke/reference. Dont worry about it.

It sounds like youre just trying to unlock your dragoon soul crystal for now. Level marauder up to 15. You also need to advance the main story questline past the point where you complete "Sylph Management"(this is like a level 20 quest from the main story, so this step might already be done). Once those are done, there should be a new quest in the lancer guild to open up the dragoon job(and your first exclusive ability - jump). Do the quest, equip the soulstone you get, and you are now a dragoon.

Once you switch from a class to a job(lancer to dragoon in this case), the game puts more limits on which cross-class skills you can use. Dragoons use all lancer skills plus certain skills from marauder and pugilist(as a lancer you could have picked from a few skills from 8 different classes if you had them leveled up). So eventually you will probly want to level up pugilist so you have more skills to choose from(the level 12 one from pugilist being fairly nice). But for your job the skills arent life and death, so you can put it off until youre ready.
