the game isnt balanced to need 4x materia items, its not even balanced for ifrit items, both are OP the question is how OP you can get, and whatever takes the longest should be the most OP.

consider for a second, if they make dungeon loot not rare ex, and materiable, you will have to compete with how much the item is worth to sell, you also will have to compete with the guy who wants to blow up 10 ifrit swords before you get one, (if they add the loot passing that everyone is requesting)

so you really want to wait for the main gladiator to blow up 4 swords before your level 49 glad can lot? You do realize as soon as they make you able to pass loot, you will have leech selling of gear? It will still come down to money.

In actuality the loot system people hate, and the indestructible nature of ifrit weapons, is what is making them not be totally abused.
