    Craft gear with 3x or more materia should be the strongest now, consider it is crazy hard to make, a crafter in my server spent 10 mil+ to craft without bot for 6-7 hours a day for one whole week and he could only success one with IV + IV + IV.     In MMO, the harder stuff to obtain should be the stronger, otherwise who would do it? How many crafters out there currently still care to try for making materia weapon anymore when most people can easily get Ifrit for FREE?


    You're battling the wrong "enemy." Instead of insisting that materia'd gear be the better gear b/c it's harder to obtain, you should be insisting that SE make the U/U gear harder to obtain. Who in the hell would want to play an MMORPG where gameplay is centered aroung GIL-making and CRAFTING. It renders all the DoW and DoM classes useless...The whole point of FF games is to become stronger, to beat harder bosses, to gain the best equipment in the game -all this is so you can enjoy gameplay w/o any hindrances from being "too weak." **THIS** materia system completely undermines gameplay for ALL DoW and DoM classes. It's the stupidest idea they've pumped out since Yoshi took over, and I hope he realizes it before this game suffers more losses that it can't afford to take.

    the game isnt balanced to need 4x materia items, its not even balanced for ifrit items, both are OP the question is how OP you can get, and whatever takes the longest should be the most OP.

    consider for a second, if they make dungeon loot not rare ex, and materiable, you will have to compete with how much the item is worth to sell, you also will have to compete with the guy who wants to blow up 10 ifrit swords before you get one, (if they add the loot passing that everyone is requesting)

    so you really want to wait for the main gladiator to blow up 4 swords before your level 49 glad can lot? You do realize as soon as they make you able to pass loot, you will have leech selling of gear? It will still come down to money.

    In actuality the loot system people hate, and the indestructible nature of ifrit weapons, is what is making them not be totally abused.

    I guess you didn't read my original post....If materia is going to stay for good, then U/U gear either needs to be SIGNIFICANTLY better than crafted/melded gear; OR it should be allowed to have materia attached to it as well...WITH the added bonus that it CANNOT blow up. That would keep ppl from needing to get more than one "ifrit wpn" b/c they're blowing them up, and it would make the ifrit fight a lot more worthwhile rather than farming enough money, so you can buy enough lvl 50 +1 wpns to try and attach 3 tier IV materia to them. The whole feel of the game is being twisted all around thanks to this sh@##y materia system. Ppl can barely muster up the motivation to raid anymore b/c, virtually, all the gear in there is useless -compared to it's crafted/melded counterpart.

    U/U gear should be meldable, but STAY non-convertable, and NOT be allowed to "bust" when materia melds fail. W/ U/U gear, players should simply lose ALL the materia they had on the equipment, but the equipment should never blow up.

    sooo you want to make materia U/U items not only the best items in game, but also the easiest to obtain? the fact that you lose the items slows down materia considerably, and increases the cost and effort to make dramatically. If you have a base weapon that never blows up, that will be the easiest to meld.

    i had a long complicated post about a way in which they could make items add materia, without elimnating the need for gatherers or crafters, involving making a proxy version of the item that they could add a materia to, then add that to u/u weapons, but its a lot of work to execute, and at the end of the day you will still need crafters, and the materia u/u should still not be the best equip, but only equal to teh crafted ones.

    but at the end of the day
    gatherers must gather
    crafters must craft
    battlers must battle

    you cant give battlers complete control over making items via battle. (ie defeating monsters for finished drops)
