I wasn't going to clown myself and I don't care if others do; but now that you made this topic, I'll make sure to transfer to Lindblum, don my clown suit, and stalk you everywhere you go.

Aion has this, and it's not a big deal. While you do have some groups with silly designs, the majority use it properly.

Some things just dont look good.

For example, patches. They dont look good. If you have a chainmail or something on your body, and then attach some multicoloured armpatch on top of that, it doesn't match at all and looks stupid. Not cool at all. Not cool, bro.

Another thing. Capes with huge insignia on them. Again, just looks like crap.

I give my approval and permission to SE for doing this, but dude, just get it right. ok?

Just get it right and dont make it look like crap, all I ask.

I'd rather have the high quality of gear we have now, with nothing more than the current colour customisation than the freedom to add really ugly embellishments to gear, which would obviously lower the overall quality.

The take home message being: keep the high quality and fashionable nature of gear at ALL costs. Even if it means limiting some of the freedom.

They said its not going to be 100% customizable. They said that they are going to do it like the linkshells, where you pick and choice patterns(more options) What you come up with can be put on a sleeve or infront of you're armor. Thats what I'm getting out of it. I for one am excited for it. They did really well on linkshell emblems. There's only 2 linkshells(that I've seen) have the same one. Soooooo, ya I wouldn't worry about it being tacky or silly.

I dont care about the symbological lexicon with which we can make our Free Company icons out of. The more customisation in that respect the better as far as im concerned. But what is most important is the range of colours and the degree of embellishment we will be able to add to gear.

If we can add a bright yellow and lime green, smily faced armpatch to a chainmail... then that just looks stupid. It's bad enough you have to look at all these unsightly primary-coloured linkshell icons all day, the last thing we need is to have to see that on everyone's gear too.

While options are good, I understand the point of not wanting to watch clown parades all day. Fortunately, due to the nature of it, the upcoming emblems should be far less of an eyesore than the LS icons.

You know what op if you're sooo meh about colors. Just make your armor MATCH THE EMBLEM!!!!! OR BUY PEOPLE GEAR WITH THE RIGHT COLORS! There, I fixed you're problem, now end thread!

PS: They are going to make it where you can dye your armor any color.

you did fix it for the OP, OP is going to wear mat grey armour and have a grey emblem (i guess) OP's problem isn't what she is going to be wearing, its what every1 else is going to be wearing

What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.
