I don't like the Ifrit battle: rant warning

The thing besides the system issues that ruins this fight tends to be the players, there's a lot of "its fine with this cross class ability it will cover up the fact that we absolutely suck at playing our own class." People find every excuse possible to grab more abilities when they just have too many 50s and actually never concentrated on learning how to play one of them. its the same reason my thm is treated like a bastard step child of back up cure maging, people unwilling to learn how to play thm or even learn what it can do. (cross classing is good and necessary but when everyone in your party is required to have 1 skill even if its outside of DoW or DoM for them, thats ridiculous, and just trying to make the fight as easy mode as possible)

Things like the towers that appear, has anyone tried smashing all of them, since people say only do 1 or 2, but I'm assuming with all broken that move will do little to no dmg.

To say Gladiator is a useless class right now is ridiculous, it can still tank things other classes including mrd and pug could not dream of tanking, its just with Ifrit that MRD is a little better, people do this with Gladiator's all the time still. Ridiculous to say Gladiator is trash, just due to it not being as good at one thing. There are certain aspect of the class that are gimped but I play with a Gladiator everyday all the time, he's my boyfriend, and he's a great tank, if the Gladiator you are or play with seems trash he probably just is trash, its not his class.
