It seems to make sense to me. Granted, what's been said isn't exact, but I'm assuming it just means that the follow-ups don't necessarily have higher per-execute potency than the opener. They'll still have higher per-execute contribution though.

    Our typical combos:
    Full Thrust - 150 potency
    Vorpal - 100 (C.B. 200)
    Full - 100 (C.B. 360)

    These combos:
    <> Tachi - 220 potency
    Kazekiri - 100 potency (C.B. 180) - Grants attack speed
Raikiri - 100 potency (C.B. 170) - Makes your direct damage attacks immune (or 10% resistant) to typal (e.g. Slashing) resistances.
OR: Saikiri - 100 potency (C.B. 150) - Causes your next to attack twice.
OR: Hisaku - 100 potency (C.B. 110 AoE) - Causes your next attack to cleave for split damage, + (diminishing) bonus per target hit.
    etc., etc.

Tachi remains your individually "strongest" ability. Spammed, it does mediocre damage. Taking advantage of follow-ups and cycling back around, it does a whole lot more.

That said, I don't especially see why this would be necessary. There's also a reason every single job does a 150 (or less) opener; at first, as not to take from the tank's first hit, as Bloodletters before the first enmity-enhanced move, etc., are want to do.

Did you even read my first post ?

"Boosting" the first attack is done by using several other WS before this attack. Think of it as if you always had access to Fell Cleave, but if, without Abandon stacks, it would only be a 150 potency skill. You'd still build abandon stacks instead of just spamming it, you'd also still put Storm's Eye and Maim, etc...the only difference would be that you'd decide each time what short buffs you want.

So basically, you'd still have the same exact play style as the other classes... You'd just get the abilities in a different order.

With higher freedom in your "combos" since you could use anything you want as your first and second steps before closing it

Or else, since I realize that it's really close to how the assassin works in Diablo II, maybe each prior step can be stacked several times, resulting in really long chains before unleashing your finishing strike.

What I think could make samurai really fun and unique is give it an unlimited tp pool.

Give it two stances, the first being the sword with every skill in your combo using two to three times the amount of tp. Once depleted you change your stance and do a repelling shot and boom, you have a bow, your tp is full and the play style changes from a 123 to that similar to 2.0 brd.

You could balance it out and make it one of the more difficult classes. Idk haven't given it that much thought, just throwing it out there.
