Double Exp weekends in FFXIV

So SE just announced their first double exp weekend in FFXI

Do you think they should have this for FFXIV?

Personally I think yes because most people can play on the week and and gives people who work all week time to catch up.

I honestly don't think FFXIV -needs- double xp, we get rested bonus but it's already easy enough to level, especially with page bonuses for crafts + gathering D:. It'd trivialize things further I think, we should enjoy what little grind there is without the need to whoosh even faster through it.

ypshi-p said after 1 of the polls that the XP gain in v1 was very high on porpuse, and come 2.0 it would be lowered to a much standar point.

I must have missed that haha, I won't mind the lowered exp at all but I still think even with rested bonus, the double xp would be waaay too much D:

yeah ofcource, and we have to have in mind that this is a desperate atempt from SE to keep make ppl level outside abbysea in XI

Haha yeah><. I haven't played XI for just over 2 years now, but when I was on there it was all "ABBYSEA OR GTFO" ><, it was horrible ;;
