    ^ this

    To add some point
Specialist will stay because and mainly because as Yoshida stated many time
You need to COOPERATE with your fellow player in each world
    Since 3.2 I've been added into a crafting/gathering Linkshell and it's a huge help
You always have multiple specialist and people are as passionnate as you so they are helpful because they know you can help them

On the token situation it has been said that 3.3 will see new thing to buy with red script not a new red or new color

And the Cul/Alc recipes... as said they are looking into it (maybe changing the book IV recipe into 3 yielding recipe like the book II of CUL)

    ...

    Regarding new DoH DoL stuff
I can already see the mog sealant...
    It's like huge and obvious...

I don't mean to offend, but I can't help but roll my eyes whenever I see this brought up. I didn't need specialists during the 2.x series of patches to mingle with other crafters and make deals.

The specialist system was added as a way for crafters who don't want to level up every craft to still be competitive. But what did we end up with? Players still need at least multiple 50 classes, the specialist skills are worthless, and people who liked doing things on their own have been strong-armed into the "jolly cooperation" that many (I won't say a minority or majority) other crafters were already enjoying.

On paper it was a way to give casual players more options. In reality? Between the specialist restrictions and red scrip nightmare, crafting on the high end doesn't seem casual friendly at all.

I like the idea of specialists, but this system still needs a lot of work but I don't think the developers will put any effort into making fixes.

That is why each crafter is so very different. This has made crafters on my server work together into a sort of Co-Op situation and really I don't mind it at all. However I do have 6 specialists across 2 characters. I roll my eyes everytime other crafters mention HOW IT WAS IN 2.x....it has been almost a year I think it is time for everyone to move on and at least try to accept this is the way it is for the forseeable future.

I think at this point most of us have accepted that the specialist system and the new skills that came with it is lackluster. The only question is, what will the developers do to improve it (note: improve, not remove), which I think is the goal of this thread.
