Wish list for crafting in 3.3

I know some of this is not happening, but here's what I hope happens with crafting in 3.3:

    - Don't lock new crafter/gatherer gear behind specialists. That's giving a MASSIVE advantage to LTW and WVR specialists. Lock all other recipes behind specialists if needed. Just let me at least be self-sufficient with my own gear. I don't want to sit in PF with a "Will trade BSM tools for gear" sign up for the next 3 months.

    - Don't let our built up red scrip tokens go to waste. I've been hoarding tokens since I finished gearing up my classes. I don't want to have 100+ red tokens of each type that I can't use. At worst, give us a 4-to-1 exchange on the current red tokens to the new red tokens.

    - Make multiple copies of food or potions in one craft. I know this one has at least been addressed as an issue that's being looked at.

Those are the big things. I'm sure other people have also talked about these things, but I'm hoping adding my voice to the crowd will make it a little louder.

1 - Specialist is here to stay, at least until next expansion. Expect top tier recipes to be specialist locked for their first ~3 months
2 - There will be no new red tokens
3 - Needs to be done, they are "looking into it"

Actually, in an interview, Yoshida said that new tokens will be introduced.

Yoshida: When the level of crafter and gatherer equipment rises, the current Rowena's token will become an intermediate currency, red scrip and the current Rowena's token rates will be lowered, and a new Rowena's tokan will become the main exchange. Further carrying out high difficulty collection and production from there is the flow that leading players will want to keep up with.

I don't remember the i170 DoH/DoL gear ever being specialist-only... didn't we see the first specialist recipes appear in 3.1 with the Sky Pirate gear? I would expect that the new crafted DoH/DoL gear will NOT require specialist. Here are my other thoughts:

    - No mention of new accessories, so there is a good chance that the current i170 accessories will be it until 4.0, similar to the Rose Gold stuff from ARR.
    - Will we be getting upgrades for our tools, perhaps in an intermediate patch? I question how many extra stats we will get with only a left side ilvl boost. Seems like there should also be a mainhand tool upgrade in there, as well, to reach 4star level.
    - Like everyone else, I wonder if there will be some sort of "moogle sealant" from the new beast tribe in order to gate the new gear and to give a larger player base an opportunity to earn gil from the crafters. It seems like there **must** be some required item for the new gear that is gated in some way.
    - Will they finally release the crafted weapons that were slated for 3.2? It seems a little silly that the best weapon we can craft at this point is i150... it's almost embarrassing.
    - Seems like desynthesis has been rather neglected... perhaps this will become necessary again soon?

Belts, and accessories are planned for Patch 3.4.
Moogle sealant is a strong possibility

Crafted weapons have never been comparable, if we get them in 3.3 I expect them to be 210-230. If it's not til 3.4, then I'd guess 220-240.

MCD and FCIII have stuck around, there's a decent chance the new stuff will require it (or MCII/FCIV). They will raise the cap by at least 10 and add in VA gear for desynth for sure.

    ^ this

    To add some point
Specialist will stay because and mainly because as Yoshida stated many time
You need to COOPERATE with your fellow player in each world
    Since 3.2 I've been added into a crafting/gathering Linkshell and it's a huge help
You always have multiple specialist and people are as passionnate as you so they are helpful because they know you can help them

On the token situation it has been said that 3.3 will see new thing to buy with red script not a new red or new color

And the Cul/Alc recipes... as said they are looking into it (maybe changing the book IV recipe into 3 yielding recipe like the book II of CUL)

    ...

    Regarding new DoH DoL stuff
I can already see the mog sealant...
    It's like huge and obvious...

I don't mean to offend, but I can't help but roll my eyes whenever I see this brought up. I didn't need specialists during the 2.x series of patches to mingle with other crafters and make deals.

The specialist system was added as a way for crafters who don't want to level up every craft to still be competitive. But what did we end up with? Players still need at least multiple 50 classes, the specialist skills are worthless, and people who liked doing things on their own have been strong-armed into the "jolly cooperation" that many (I won't say a minority or majority) other crafters were already enjoying.

On paper it was a way to give casual players more options. In reality? Between the specialist restrictions and red scrip nightmare, crafting on the high end doesn't seem casual friendly at all.

I like the idea of specialists, but this system still needs a lot of work but I don't think the developers will put any effort into making fixes.

That is why each crafter is so very different. This has made crafters on my server work together into a sort of Co-Op situation and really I don't mind it at all. However I do have 6 specialists across 2 characters. I roll my eyes everytime other crafters mention HOW IT WAS IN 2.x....it has been almost a year I think it is time for everyone to move on and at least try to accept this is the way it is for the forseeable future.

I think at this point most of us have accepted that the specialist system and the new skills that came with it is lackluster. The only question is, what will the developers do to improve it (note: improve, not remove), which I think is the goal of this thread.
