Lack of proper midcore content in this game?

Extreme trials seems to fit the midcore audience. It's not hard enough to require a decent static & it can be easily done in party finder, but it's also not easy enough where people can slack off during the fight and still win. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be much midcore content to tackle on as a midcore player.

For example, you have Bismarck and Ravana Extreme which provided a decent challenge when they came out. But now that echo is added and more people these days are using vastly superior and newer tomestone gear, it's not so much of a challenge anymore. Now you have Thordan and Sephirot Extreme, they are considered to be more difficult than Bismarck and Ravana Extreme. However with time those trials will soon follow the same path as Bismarck and Ravana Extreme.

As better tome gear and echo gets added, the challenge becomes less apparent and eventually there's no incentive to clear that piece content other than experiencing it for the first time or farming it for mounts/glamour. What do you think?
