Hi OP, I feel you on that original love and then when it trends, people just think we follow the trend, copycats, un-original.

And that's where I draw the WoW analogy. There was launch, which mostly consisted of us classic MMORPG'ers. We still might be considered the dorks, geeks, or nerds.

There was this second wave of gamer a few months after launch, which consisted on Battle.net converts willing to shell out subscription fees. Some people think we're geeks.

And THEN there was the post South Park episode crowd, which seems to have left many emotional scars on people that have scrambled their opinions of the game. No longer distinguishing interface from mechanics, because the "community" that flooded afterward. And now if you don't play WoW or haven't tried WoW, you're the odd one out.

Ifrit is the South Park episode, Lancer is WoW. And now there's lots of riff-raff amongst the gems.
