Antiquated to animated question(Not sure if my previous post went in)

The Antiquated Hauteclaire is item level 200 but when you upgrade it for anima quest line to Animated Hauteclaire it drops in item level to 170? Am I understanding it right? I'm a returning player, been off for 7 months and just getting back into the swing of things and I really like the Hauteclaire Awoken look.

Those are unrelated items despite sharing design and name. The 170 is a quest weapon which upgrades to 200, 210, 230 and so on...
The other is weapon to buy from tomestones. There is no downgrading.

so I buy a hauteclaire with tomestones and it's level 200. Then I can start a questline for another of a similar design and name but at level 170 is what you are saying?

Yes, the tome weapon is not needed to start the anima quest weapon, they are separate but just look alike.

Right, and by continuing that questline the 170 goes to 200, 210, 230 and even higher after the next patch. The one you bought with tomestones will only have one upgrade available(210), which most people get by running the void ark raid.
