Attacks not responding

Hi,

I just created a new character on Besaid, and have been trying to level him up. When in combat, however, he rarely responds to attack commands that I give him. He auto-attacks just fine, but if I press a number key that corresponds to an attack, he rarely does it. I actually have to mash the key repeatedly and rapidly in most cases to get him to perform the attack. If I press it once and wait, he will not do it and will continue to auto-attack. Other times he will respond just fine. I know it sounds like lag, but it's probably not a lag issue because out of combat actions work just fine and my latency meter is always green (s/r always less than 50).

Date & Time: 10/29/11 somewhere between 1 pm and 2:30 pm EST
Frequency: Almost constant, but unrepeatable
Character Name: Corin Fletcher (since deleted)

Class/Skill Rank: Archer/all Melee (I was getting all these classes to lvl 6 each)
Area and Coordinates: Thanalan right outside Ul'dah
Party or Solo: Solo
NPC Name: n/a
Monster Name: Everything around Ul'dah
In-Game Time: can't recall
Steps:
1. Initiate combat with a monster
2. Press any skill button be it an attack, a buff, whatever
3. Most of the time, nothing will happen


I have to report that once I closed the client and restarted, this problem went away and I haven't experienced it since.
