Yup. There were people running around with the gilded magitek armor within the first few days of commendations being added to the game.

I wouldnt want a ranking system between other players as it will most definitely make players "farm" recommendations which defeats the original point of such a system. Not that commendations are given for their true purpose most of the time now but at least you don't start a toxic mentality coming from wanting to "rank higher" than others.

I would, however, support the part on listing how many commendations I had on each job, (but only on our own character page, probably below where the current commendation totals are shown). It'd be a QoL improvement so I guess even if the devs are ok with doing this, it'd be pretty low on their priority list.
