I think the bunny ears have less of a political reason and it's more laziness. I doubt they want to take the time to fit/scale it to all the males when the (vocal) minority wants it. Here's hoping that they listen to forum feedback enough though, that they actually take the time and effort to provide these accessories to everyone. Seems pretty backwards to create an entire player-driven system like indoor gardening and then limit the major benefits to only the female avatars.

And until this live letter they didn't give confirmation which item will become unisex...I think the bunny ears have less of a political reason and it's more laziness. About the flower, they should give information too if this headgear for female only or unisex, like give example for any male race if unisex.
Even if they're available for both genders the fact of the matter is that a lot of gear is designed for female characters outright and even if it isn't there's a lot of glamour that is specifically designed to be androgynous or feminine in its design. The 'masculine' sets that we do see are nice but they're very rarely gender locked and so they're made with female characters in mind as well. Then there's weird decisions such as the Minfilia outfit coming with an additional hairstyle for female characters only for the Cid outfit to come without a hair and beard option.
As for hairstyles? Many are designed to be 'androgynous' or 'feminine' as well. Especially recently.
It's a bit frustrating, really. I wish male characters got as many 'masculine' customisation options in this game as there are 'feminine' and 'androgynous' options. >_>

i just say "Haha" to everyone who said that he will not start the Anima questline because of unwanted secondary stats ^^
There will also be a continuation to the anima weapon quest series in Patch 3.3. This time, players will be able to add a secondary attribute of their choosing, similar to the Zodiac weapon quest where players added attributes via materia. However, unlike the Zodiac weapon quest line where you sometimes lost the materia, this time around there will be no failures. Instead, depending on your luck, you will receive additional bonuses. Just like before, there will be various avenues to increase your stats, so we'd like you to choose the method that best suits your play style.
