Firstly you're not farming 7 weeks. You're doing 1 instance once a week. The only thing you need to farm for Lore weapon is Lore tomes and if you don't want to cap your tomes, getting 1000 tomes in 7 weeks is very easy to do.

Also if you don't want to use 1000 Lore on a weapon, just get the Horde weapon from Nidhogg. It's ilvl235, but the downside is that you won't be able to upgrade it to 240. If you're not clearing Savage content then the only chance you can get to upgraded Lore weapons will be in 3.4 and the new trial boss will most likely have a weapon better than 240.

Lastly, you can skip the whole 7 Gears step by getting a High-capacity Tomestone from M2S.
