Thread: 3.3 Question

Just a quick question, but are they planning on taking down the lockouts in Midas normal mode in 3.3? I need a 230 weapon for a class I haven't been keeping up on, and I'm debating on whether I should start on another relic or wait and see if the lockout on Midan Gears comes down when the patch hits.

They may talk about that in the live letter tonight (or early tomorrow morning depending on your time zone)

They only remove these types of lockouts when adding the next part of the raid, or a few months before a new expansion. So I won't expect the normal lockout to be removed until 3.4.

The removed the lockout on Gordias normal in 3.1 though. :/

Unfortunately we don't have any info on that. 3.1 did set a precedent though that might not count for gears which don't drop in the same manner as other loot. They might tell us tonight but its just as likely they wont. Regardless the patch is only 2 weeks away.

Oh, I forgot about that. I suppose it's possible then, although I still wouldn't expect them to drop the weekly lockout on the Midan Gears, since those can be turned in for an i230 weapon, while the rest of the normal Midas gear is i220.

It still takes 1000 Lore tomes over 3 weeks of lore caps on top of those 7 gears, so I would think it would be a fair deal considering you get other i230 gear for far less time & effort.

And probably, we will have a weapon 230 or 235 with the new trial Ex.
So it would be logic to lockout the Midan Gears (for the weapon, you still need 1000 memo lore).

Any word on this? I just am curious since I just got back to the game. Do I need to farm 7 weeks or no ;_;

Firstly you're not farming 7 weeks. You're doing 1 instance once a week. The only thing you need to farm for Lore weapon is Lore tomes and if you don't want to cap your tomes, getting 1000 tomes in 7 weeks is very easy to do.

Also if you don't want to use 1000 Lore on a weapon, just get the Horde weapon from Nidhogg. It's ilvl235, but the downside is that you won't be able to upgrade it to 240. If you're not clearing Savage content then the only chance you can get to upgraded Lore weapons will be in 3.4 and the new trial boss will most likely have a weapon better than 240.

Lastly, you can skip the whole 7 Gears step by getting a High-capacity Tomestone from M2S.
