No more "Cute" races, we need variety, and that is more womanly and grown up races.

In other words, the proper Viera, with the original feet and everything, like Fran.

reangle the miqote ears n extend them. Half the head gear looks like crap on miqote as is. so having goofy viera ears poking thru head gear wont be anything new.

While you might find this acceptable, SE most likely would not. A great deal of effort is put into making sure each gear item works for every race (this was mentioned back when Au Ra were added). It would look extremely unprofessional to just hack the model parameters of some other race, call it Viera and release it.

The "just" in the title of this thread is terribly misused. It's not like SE can just flip a switch and add a new race. They would have to do it properly, and that would entail significant development effort.

I accept that others want this race more than I do (I've never used a Fantasia myself), and for them, that development effort might be worth it and that's fine as a position to take, but don't trivialise the amount of work required because it's definitely not easy.

At least working on the Viera you do not take the risk of doing someting "useless".
People want Vieras, so instead of asking a team to create a new one (model + lore + stuff) adding them would save SE time/money cause they won't need to "hope" people will be receptive to their work and effort considering they ask for it.

NOPE!...not all people want Viera, Why do something like this? it would seem half as***, and like Singularity and some others have mentioned it would take a considerable amount of Dev time and work, dev time that would/could be used for more content and features that would be more beneficial and important to players than a new race...THIS would bring in/keep more players than adding a new race....but that's just my opinion, everyone has their views on this subject after all.

A lot of people said that before Au Ra was launched because they "like Miqo/Hyur/Roe/Lala/Elezen so much to ever change", and yet the mount of people that changed for good is really high. There's no way to actually know until it's in game, I think. Based on concept art I thought I would be an AuRa lightspeed but the final product didn't appeal to me that much. On the other hand there's people that hated the concepts and the leaked promo pictures but loved the characters in-game when benchmark was released.

I'd prefer they take the time for developing a new race and use it for something else. Want to know what I'd really like to see? Even though it will probably never happen, unique combat stances and combat animations for each race. That is one of my favorite things about XI and WoW and it serves to make each race actually feel visually different from each other.
