Please just give us Viera!

I really love when games add new races. Viera or something else I don't really care (as long as they add something new to diversify) so I am kinda neutral. I have races I would like to see and Viera is one of them but I am not gonna quit if they don't add it I am perfectly happy to play Au Ra, Lalafell, or Miqote.

But...all the people saying Viera won't work because it's just like Miqote...but Au Ra is just like Miqote too lol? If you say "oh Viera is just Miqote with bunny ears and a tail (special shaped face and feet)"....Au Ra is just Miqote with a lizard tail and horns (and some scales). Isn't it basically the same thing? If I am missing something tell me because this line of reasoning just confuses me.

Another funny thing is Yugiri actually uses a Miqote body model (I guess because when they added her to the story they hadn't finished Au Ra models).

Honestly if they didn't want to add Viera because it was too close to Miqote then I am confused why they added Au Ra since I personally see the same issue.

When you are doing content you are zoomed all the way out usually to make sure you can see everything you need to see and most races don't stand out. Like I confuse Hyur, Miqote, Au Ra (and even Elezan) all the time unless I zoom in. So in this reasoning they shouldn't have added Au Ra either. Yet they use that as a reason for not adding Viera. I just personally don't get it.

I'd likely be happy with whatever they decide to add though.

They dropped the ball with au ra really really really hard which is why viera getting added would make it even worse because it would be an even bigger crime than au ra.

Despite your opinion they dropped the ball with Au Ra...there seems to be a lot of people happy with Au Ra since I see them everywhere in-game. Even this long after they added it and playing the content a lot I see Au Ra almost as often as Miqote. So I am not sure how many share your opinion that they screwed up by adding Au Ra...just my observation it seems like your opinion is minority.

Anyway mostly I just feel people are using SE's flawed logic as a point for their argument that it will never happen like saying "they'll never add it cause they said they don't want a race that is similar to Miqote" even though after this they went and added Au Ra. So SE obviously doesn't really follow their own reasoning.

If they aren't even following their own reasoning they might still add Viera anyway even if some people won't like it. I mean I personally don't like the Roe race, but I wouldn't ask for it to be removed just because I don't like it. That would be silly...so I don't agree with you that they dropped the ball with Au Ra at all. I see tons of people playing Au Ra characters; that seems like a success to me.

They dropped the ball exceedingly hard in terms of delivery since they hyped up the race very very seriously with the no skin showing outfit for yugiri and the "I hide my features because the Eorzean people will get triggered worse than tumblr" making us think its some truly different and feature rich race.

And then we get the Au ra which turns out to be hyur with horns, tail, special eyes and scale patches that follows the tired old giant males and tiny cute females religiously.

My reasons for being extremely unhappy with au ra are very sound. Id really like a new race to not follow the Au ra's footsteps which is why Im furiously against viera.

It's just your opinion they dropped the ball. Doesn't make it fact. I am pretty sure SE doesn't see it that way since Au Ra became quite popular. So even tho you are extremely unhappy with Au Ra the majority of the community had the opposite opinion of you. All you have to do is look in-game to see this or notice the show your au ra thread is double or so the posts compared to the Lalafell, and Hyur threads of the same concept.

I'd actually prefer a wolf type race first instead of Viera. I also see many people want Viera though so I respect that what I personally want might be a minority. SE is going to go with whatever they want to add or what they think is more profitable. They also may evaluate the community to find out what the majority wants to see added. In the end there is always going to be a part of the community that is going to be unhappy no matter what they choose to add to their game.

I remember that too, all I got in the end was a flavor of the month hyur with a bit of a skin rash, there's stranger creatures in the world there's even beastmen in limsa buying things but a petite human with horns will cause a riot like in Frakenstien with towns people yelling monster? good grief. I don't even really know why I chose miqote either, hyur cosplaying a cat girl

what is the obsession with vierra?? theres better looking races that could be added instead of "bunny people" i hated fran so much in 12 and praying to any diety that will listen they never add them into ff14 ._.

For those bringing up the Aura, at least they're an original race to the game (if not the FF series), as opposed to yet another element transplanted from another FF game, which XIV does enough of as it is. I imagine they figured if they were going to do a 'hyur with animal parts' they might as well make an original race rather than just throw in Viera, just because.

I personally wouldn't change to Viera but I would like the variety. Some concept they did made them look really unique to me, small but not as small as Lalafell and animal features but not a direct Lala/Miqo

Considering how much Lala's polarise the playerbase, I bet if this version of Viera was added there'd be nothing but complaints on how SE 'ruined' the race as a result.
