XIV has a hard on for recycling left right and center, seeing pulsework knights is fine they come from another game established in that game's universe but I think Viera should stay in Ivalice, since XIV is its own thing, maybe we can have bunny eared playable characters with some differences to viera, all the races in this game with the exception of Au Ra are heavily based off XI's races with some adjustments, would you like to settle for that? Maybe we'll get them in the superior ivalice based MMO

I don't think they will add more dragon like races. Though Viera would be a very much accepted race in FF XIV.

Think of it like this, They made Miqo'tes why? Because all they had to do was add cat ears and tail to a human like and it was done. Why did they add Au Ra to the game? Because its the same thing, only they added scales to the skin, dragon tail and horns to a human like and done, both races not that well known.

Why they didn't went for Viera, one race that has appeared before in Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy XII? Because the shape of the bodies and feet of Viera are much diferent, and they would have to change textures and shape of some foot gear to fit them. Though would be a good improvement for other classes to be added.

I know what you mean, It's just we have to look at the reality of what people are asking for...just for the sake of argument SE decides to add the Viera race...it will not look anything like what people are wanting, they will definitely be a bunny race...but they will not look anything like the concept art some people have posted in this thread, they will most likely be close to humanoid in appearance (aka look like a hyur or miqo), a good example of a change would be the feet...which someone mentioned already in this thread a few pages back, SE would not dedicate so much dev time and work to go back and change armor sets for one race, for them it would be easier to have the new race look as humanoid as possible and i'm pretty sure some people would be more than satisfied....and others not so much, and some of those "others" would be very vocal about it in these very forums lol.

For me personally i want to see something like this, the visuals already look great, but what if they updated the race models visually with more customization options...and i won't even mention they could totally do it once they drop PS3 support..what with that pesky ps3 limitations thing.....but then again i just did!
