    Getting tired of waiting on DCs at the start of duties

    Can you guys please fix it so that whenever someone DCs while loading into the duty, we aren't forced to stand there in the stupid ring, unable to move, waiting on it for 10 minutes? Happens all the time and it's really annoying. Sorry if this topic exists, I haven't seen it and I don't wanna use the search bar.

    How would they even do it? and what if the said person is a crucial member for the said instance? then how will you proceed?

    Didn't even think it was an issue that happened so many times it needed a fix... Happened maybe twice or thrice this year to me >_>

    That was me in a recent Cutters Cry. Joined as drk and see 2 lv 60s one blm with the 230 relic and the other a geared Astro. I think to myself, "hmmm this looks like it'll be a really good run." Blm DC's. Astro stands there afk for 8 minutes or so then DC's as well.

    It depends on the dungeon. There have been many times where I have finished a dungeon without a "crucial member of the team." Have done a HM dungeon with no healer because he was being an ass and pulling for me, then decided to pout and not heal at all so we kicked him. Another time in Haukke Manor I tanked as a Monk from the begging to the end of the dungeon because our tank dc'd and we never got another one. Being stuck in the ring is excruciatingly annoying when you could at least do some of the dungeon while you wait for the person to finally connect.

    There should just simply not be a 5-minute wait for the offline condition of dismissing a player. Or a vote even. Pick that option, game checks if they're actually offline, bam, done.

    And this is coming from someone who's been dismissed due to router hookups and still think it's better overall than waiting at the start of a duty when there really shouldn't be a wait.

    I have never really experienced this, had it happen in Shiva but other then that never actually seen it happen what OP is talking about.

    You know I don't understand the reason for that ring's existance. On some primal fights it's great though - since there might be story before the fight starts, it gives people who want to enjoy a cutscene a chance to watch it.

    However, the big issue is, that when someone DC's (red pokeballs), the game will consider them 'in cutscene' up until the point they either A) return and finish the cutscene (Without DC'ing completely / going offline) or B) Actually physically disconnect from the server (character is no longer connected.)

    So the issue we're presented with, is how do we maintain the use of the first bit of it (making sure people can enjoy the opening cutscene before the dungeon starts) yet also add a safeguard for when someone DC's?

    First of all, I want to suggest that the Duty Timer be given an addition of +5 mintues. As strange as it may sound, this is my suggestion to help alleviate part of the issue that comes about from these DC's - that htose who do it to get out of the dungeon before it even starts, also manage to make it so you have to *wait longer while they dc*.

    Adding 5 mintues to the timer, and having it start the -instant- the first person loads in, will alleviate this. Because the current timer does not start until your -entire party- is loaded and you get the 'Duty commenced' screen. There aren't any opening cinematics that really go for 5+ minutes, so if someone's taking -that- long just to watch a cutscene, they're probably DC'd.

    This also helps out in the fact that you don't lose the time it takes waiting on them DC'ing. You'll be able to kick them -sooner- and that helps the party recover -faster-.

    Second, I want to suggest that there be a period within the start of the dungeon - the first 10 minutes - where kicks do not go against your Once-every-4-hour kick period. This is particularly because when someone DC's in the first 5 minutes, you basically know you're gonna have to kick them. That, or when you vote kick someone who's offline, have it not go against this.

    /shrug happens at least once a week to me. Thread was started after the third time in one day. I can only assume you do duties far less often than I do. Whether it happens to you often or not doesn't really matter to me... it doesn't need to happen at all. Dunno what the point of your comment is.

    Get rid of the stupid ring altogether, or let you vote kick after 5 minutes per usual. The first option would be better.

    You continue without them, if you can. If not, you wait til they get back. Most of the time time you can pull one group at a time without a tank/healer, and in trials you can be one person down and not even notice. What instance are you talking about where there's a crucial member? And why is standing around doing nothing a better alternative?
