Yea. The Red Scrip gear (the i180 stuff) is intended to be the catch up gear, or the poor man's meld-free gear. The new set in 3.3 is intended to allow us to craft 4 star stuff later on.

Red script favor system is an evolution of the old demi materia system used to separate small little casual player that try to call themself Crafter and real high end Crafter.

Because being 60 with i150 unmelded stuff and being 60 with i170 quadri to penta melded is quite a difference

And that's why I laugh a lot to all of my FC member that say once they reach all 60 that soon they will be better than me
And 10 min later i hear them complaining that 1 single red script tool is 3 week of farm
