Can't type password or one time password in client, but can type in ID

Just used the client last night, had no problems. Computer did not update last night and there doesn't look to be any updates to the client as well. For some reason I can't type in the password or one time password spaces. When i touch the keys nothing is put in and the line does not move to show that the characters are invisible, but it will let me type in my ID. Anyone have any other problems like this?

So i believe i may have found the problem but I need assistance in making it right.

I believe my launcher reverted back to an old launcher and need to know what the current launcher number is. Completely unsure on how this happened. The icon is no longer a Heavensward icon and the launcher code at the top of the launcher is "2016.02.08.0000.0001". This would put the launcher I'm given at sometime in February right?

So my final dillema is if this is indeed a launcher issue, how do i go about redownloading the current launcher? Do i dig in the files somewhere to find the old one, delete it, and then download it off the site? Any help into getting me back into FFXIV would be greatly appreciated!

This is just a stretch but is it possible it's not actually the launcher causing the problem but actually the version of Internet Explorer you're using? (specifically, it's out of date or corrupted?) The launcher client actually uses IE as it's 'base' so to speak, so if anything goes wrong with the launcher, it's usually IE acting recalcitrant (such as the version of IE you have on your system being out of date.). Internet Explorer 8.0.6 is the bare minimum version of IE required for the launcher to work, but SE recommends the latest version.

Otherwise the only other thing I can think of is to reinstall the game again and see if that helps (reinstalling will force the launcher to update itself).
