    Choco races

Someone please explain to me what the point of raising the stats on the race choco is? No matter how high I get my stamina, it always runs out before others, even when there is 4 stars on it. I have yet to run a race that didn't rain 3/4 of the thing and it feels like the game is nerfing us. I can win races but I still don't understand, is there even a point to the stats at all? What is the point if you can't SEE an effect?

Are you only talking about high-ranking races? I know this isn't a problem in Maiden races; I can have a little left over and still win if I keep to the corners and only accelerate when I need it, right now.

Well, it also might be as you level up and gain more speed, you loose more stamina. So you will always be completely drain of stamina even if you invest heavily into it. You also need cunning.

For your 1st chocobo, it doesn't really matter, you'll never go into tier high enough to really feel the usefulness of stats.
However, with some pedigree (especially at 8-9), you'll really feel the difference when training the chocobo (a 4 star training at pedigree 9 = 15 stats points with a 3* food).
You also need to note that every stats work with each other.
If you have a lot of max speed, but not much endurance or stamina, you'll get drain in no time, same goes if you have too much acceleration.
Usually, your max speed stat shouldn't be higher than your endurance and stamina stat if you don't want to run dry.
Also, depending on the map, your cunning stat can change your stamina management, especially with tracks with a lot of rough terrains (water, slope,...).
You can also play with some of the chocobo skills for some leeway with stamina, the combo speedy recovery III and cure III is godlike for example.

    You'll make a fine corpse.

You're not constantly pushing it faster when lathered and failing to dodge panels/mobs, right? No bad luck with debuffs to explain it?

Thanks that explains a lot! I had been ignoring cunning and focusing on stamina, speed, and acceleration. And I don't get hit by the debuffs all that often. I haven't unlocked the III lvl things yet, only up to challenge 4 ;.; But I will take the advice and put it to good use. Thanks again!

But here's a question, what about the weather, why is it so unbalanced. There is WAY more rain than clear days.

When i had a foul weather chocobo, it was always sunny. When i had a good weather chocobo, it was always rainy. Or at least, it felt that way. I never kept a running total or anything.

I've seen it matter in the long run. For instance my speed is near maxed. Another human player gravity'd me got ahead. Was about a good 4 chocobos in front of me holding sprint just as we hit the final stretch of costa bridge.

I also holding forward with no interruptions for us both. Just pass him out speed difference was very obvious.
