The morpher class was actually the imspiration to this idea, but didn't like how morpher and beastmaster and blue mage are pretty damn close to being the same thing.... But to "morph" into an avatar.... seemed like a better fit... to me anywaysBecoming animals class is named "Morphist", not "Summoner". The simple concept of Summoner/Evoker is to summon something to help you ^^:
The idea is valid, but the class isn't. We do can have more than one class dealing with avatars though...maybe a "Vessel" class that can be possessed by an avatar...it would be mainly the very same difference between beastmaster and morphist...one charms the monster to aid while the other transforms into the monster.
Love the idea for new class, it sounds really fun and unique.
Some examples:
Lich
Appearance: The player's flesh rots away and is replaced by a dark flowing robe.
Role: Magic damage dealer (player is weak to fire in this form)
Lamia
Appearance: The player's lower body becomes snake-like and thier hair is replaced with slithering snakes.
Role: Crowd Control (sleep/ charm), and Melee Damage over time Dealer (daggers causing bleeding wounds and snake-hair bites/poison)
Demon Wall
Appearance: The player becomes a large wall with their face sticking out. Movement is restricted to one direction and speed reduced by 95%
Role: Crusher

I like this idea. But, I still want my SMN pet class. . .
But, this is an idea that I would love to see in the game.
