    I've been on a Doom binge since the game came out and haven't bothered to touch this game since, in fact I don't even know where my disc is at currently. I wasn't sure if the game was going to be great given the bad luck of FPS games lately, but then it hit me, Snapmap. This creator is fun and so addicting and just seeing the early work come out of it I can tell that this is going to be something even better down the road. Then it struck me, XIV should have in some regards have player created content, I see weapon skins, bardings or quest lines being something that could be easy to pull off given the broad level of technical specs SE has to work with. Raids and dungeons would be great to lessen the drought of content when the current cycle gets dried up. I think it would be really cool, even add a community roulette that plays well made content, though I know none of this will be implemented, I still think it would be a really fun and exciting thing to do within the universe of XIV.

    Player made treasure maps. You can chiose where the chest is, But the player might have to supply the reward. There are some really interesting and fun spots out there that normal maps don't go to.

    The Player made Maps is an excellent idea, it's not as big as "make your own dungeon" but I think it's doable without costing too much time to the dev team.
    You could add a "capture" or "train" mobs to add it to the trap, but the reward should scale depending of it.
    For exemple, you choose the reward first (that you must provide yourself), it gives you a number of point (more for better reward) and each mobs needs a number of point to be added to the trap.
    Then you go bury it somewhere and get a bottle you'll put somewhere too (AH or added to the pool of player map that could pop randomly with any other maps).

    I could see player maps being a good start certainly, however it would be a bit more tricky for them to include them into the game world, as we have to gather or buy them. I wouldn't want to see people sell player made content for mass amounts of Gil just to get a map that gives a potion, that would not be cool. Maybe it could workout to be a crafted item, upon creating the map you select a map piece from the world map, adjust the difficulty and select a reward option. Once this is done you give it to a treasure hunter NPC who verifies the content and removes the map from your inventory and allows it to be purchased through the npc itself.

    These maps wouldn't count toward the timer as they would be called "Adventure Maps" that can be used separately. Adventure Maps would be able to be used in open world content as well as premade parties allowing players to create and use maps for raids and dungeons. Giving new life and variety to old and open world content simultaneously.
