I like to go to the Limsa lower docks or Outer La Noscea's Hermit's Hamlet. Both are really nice looking areas and the Hamlet is like a hotspring. If you both are good at role-playing then you could pretend you're at the Bismark for a nice dinner. There are lots of places that will suit whatever kind of scenery you are looking for. Gold Saucer may be an obvious choice for playing around at. La Noscea is great for dates as it has Costa Del Sol (don't think I need to point out how it is a beach), Wineport (wine tastingand the nearby jungles. But I guess it really depends on what you want to do; if this is the place you want to propose at then La Noscea, and some parts of the Shroud, may be just want you are looking for. GL.
If you go to Costa Del Sol there is a spot that is great for looking at the ocean that most miss. Head north along the beaten path, not the beach. You'll be able to go up the standing rocks from here that will give you a great view of the ocean. From here at night you can see all the glowing reefs.
In Outer la Noscea my personal favorite spot for scenary is the floating city of nym. near the back of it is an amazing setting.
In Sea of Clouds there is a heart shape island on the west, and in the south east there is an island of water that you two can skim across.
In Churning mist you have Zenith and all its glory, in addition to a plethora of personal floating islands.
The Burning wall in East Thanala is beautiful and fun to navigate.
You could act out a play or coordinate some dances at Mhin Khitto Amphitheatre.
If this were more RPing based I'd also suggest duo a level 50 dungeon and taking your time. Some of them have amazing setting that get skipped because of the rushing. Satasha at sunset is one example.
Decorate a personal room n cuddle away.
Do Titan EX or find Odin in the South Shroud. The amount of passion you both will feel would be immeasurable
If you talk to a certain NPC in Costa del Sol, he'll transport you to a ship above the reefs. Few people know about it so it's a pretty great place to be alone and the undersea there is beautiful
I recommend going to Falcon's nest at night, its very beautiful and you might see some shooting stars and a very cool Aura Borealis.
If someone were to take me on a date in-game, the Gold Saucer immediately comes to mind, as does the sight seeing log. I would want to take lots of screen shots of us emote syncing and us on our chocobos. I would even love it if I was gifted with carnations and pearl chocolates.
I wish SE could implement something like this. Some kind of npc at the gold saucer that initiated activities you can do together with event related emotes such as holding hands, chocobos interacting with each other, and even small 3-4 second cutscenes of the joyful couple. I think it would encourage more interactions between players, which is really what mmos need.
They could take yet another page from the original gold saucer on this note and add the gondola ride for an outside view of the saucer. Also a chance to remix the nice theme (Words drowned by fireworks) from during the ride.If someone were to take me on a date in-game, the Gold Saucer immediately comes to mind, as does the sight seeing log.
