Balmung still down?

I've been sitting here two days, refreshing the page every ten minutes, and I still cant make a character on Balmung with the rest of my friends. Anyone know when or if its ever comnig back up? Is it jsut permanently closed?

Balmung is next to impossible to get into unless you transfer your character.

Its immensely populated :c

I havent played in about a year and a half. I remember noting about the game, or how it works. I wanted to start a new character, just to start learning again, but it seems thats not possible. >.<

Balmung is completely overpopulated and the only realistic way to get on the server is to create a character somewhere else, wait 3 days, and buy a server transfer from the Mogstation (which doesn't care if the world is open or not, it lets you transfer it still).

I wonder how many more people that server can take before it implodes though...

Normally I'd jsut start playing that character I have now, but that doesnt seem to be an option since shes level 50, and i have no idea how to play anymore, would make it really hard

I may just need to create a throw away character on another server and play till i relearn there, then come back to my main on balmung

Why is that not a option? Go play around in the field with mobs their or some fates there nothing a throw away character that you can't relearn on your already made character. Otherwise there next to no chance of you getting on balmung as is locked 99% of the time.

Adding to what Lexia wrote, you could also just queue up for the lower dungeons to get yourself back into it and work up to the newer dungeons (adding more skills/abilities)

I had the same issue. It sucks but what worked for me was to log on in the middle of the week in the wee hours of the morning (like 2 - 4 am). That's like the only time I see character creation open.

I know Gilgamesh seems to open up at around 4am EST. Never saw balmung open up during that time.
