so if it is 1234, and no one got 1234, then 1233 or 1235 win, ofcoz 9999 is considered closer than 2470 ^^;
if we have an guaranteed winner every week... i will do my best to bring the whole server - or almost the whole server - together and we all play with the same number. then we will all win, Fenrir for everyone o.o/I know this has been brought up before but can we please change the system so that at least one person a week is guaranteed to win the top prize, it's been 5 months I think since anyone won it on our server and our server is a very high population one with thousands of people taking part in it each week. Yes I know lotteries in real life don't always have a weekly winner but this is a video game, the two things do not need to be the same. In a game it would do little to no harm to have at least one guaranteed winner each week, perhaps the person with the closest number could be that winner if no-one matched them all.
Then you'll all share the jackpot... Enjoy your 50 MGP for your cunningness. ;P
tho all winniers will share the prize....and no one will get the ring.. ^^;
I don't care about the specifics overall of how they fix it but it feels VERY wrong to me that one of the highest population servers where thousands of people every week take part in it still hasn't had a top prize winner in over 5 months now. As others have said, their servers also have had such happen. It feels wrong to me to be in that situation considering this is a video game as opposed to the harshness of the non-game real world and I just want SE to come up with a way to fix that. I think a guaranteed winner every week (however they do it) would be better than it is now. There is probably more than one possible solution to the issue but I think personally it needs something being done about it.
The UK lotto for example uses a combination lotto/raffle system which gives you a randomly generated raffle number when buy ticket and while might not win the the lotto itself it does guarantee millionaires each week from the system choosing from those raffle numbers. In this games case that raffle number could guarantee a winner of the top prize each week if no-one picked the correct numbers on their cactpot ticket.
In terms of closest number wins if was no winner, I never said the player had to be the one to pick that number. For example the system itself could allocate a random number unbeknownst to the player when they buy a ticket much like a hidden raffle number which only the system knows, if no winner then the system itself picks the closest from that hidden 'raffle' number rather than using the 'lotto' number you picked as a player. Much like how the game picks what you roll number wise on loot, the game already has similar number generation systems which dictate who gets the loot or in this case the prize which could apply if no-one won that week. It doesn't even need to be hidden, it could be a known raffle type number allocated by the system which comes with purchase of a ticket and only kicks in when was no winner for the week...the system itself picking someone from that raffle much like it does when rolling on loot.

I do think they need to change how it works a bit. I have played every week since release and I've gotten the next up reward maybe twice. Granted I play the same number to but 1 ticket is a bit insane. I mean put a cap on it I suppose but allow us to have more than 1, each extra ticket raising in price.
Say 100, 500, 1000, 2000, 5000. 8600 total for 5 tickets.
personaly i think they should change the way it gives rewards insted of starting from the 4th digit then moving back SAY 2957 if you had 0007 you do better then someone who has 2950 they should reward you with each number matched the jackpot still being a 1 in 10000 way, but incrising the chances of a 2nd place for having 2057 2905 0957 and 2950 all equil in winnings rather then the OH to bad so sad your last digit didnt match but your other three did, welp sucks to be you heres nothing.

I just want the achievement requirement for the Jumbo Cactpot to be lowered (the "How I learned to stop worrying and love the saucer" one). 100k may be more reasonable. I've been playing since day one and I've only earned like 25k total from Jumbo Cactpot. I can get all the other requirements for the achievement down, but there is no way I'd ever win the Jumbo cactpot to complete the final requirement :C
