What's your game plan to aquire a house next patch?

So the prices for housing are dropping to about half what they were doing 2.0's housing launch. Gil of course was less plentiful earlier in the lifespan of the game and just has been increasing until it is what it is now. And now houses will cost half as much!


I already have a house and I have the cheapo service plan (only one character), so I can't get any more. But I'm sitting here reading these notes on the upcoming housing prices and imagine people wanting to buy a house are already planning their black friday mad dash land rush plans.

Anyone planning time off around the time the patch hits and stuff to make sure to secure their desired plot? I'm glad I don't have any reason to do the rush. I'm not a fan of black friday sales.

The prices are so reasonable now. Why wouldn't someone want a house? Who isn't kicking around a couple million at this point? I can only imagine someone not being able to afford it if they don't play much or something (which I can understand).

I imagine some people have some crafty plans at this point... lol I can just hear the plans hatching and scheming... :P Will the housing zones crash from getting too full? How many people can a housing zone hold before it stops people from entering?

I'm just waiting for the large FC's to dish out their wealth to their trusted member so they can all snap up the small houses and then resell them at double the cost to the people who genuinely want a house and not just see it as a source of gil.

That's when you report all of them. Buying and selling properties in that manner is against ToS, and they'll get banned after a single warning. GMs take it pretty seriously.

As for me, I'm going to be gunning for a small plot in the Goblet. Depending on what day of the week the patch launches, I'll either stay up until servers are online again, or just get up early for it.

Kinda annoyed that houses are getting 50% more expensive on "poor" servers like mine, but I digress.

There are multiple entry points into the new wards, the Aetherlyte, the direct entrance, and moving from another Ward. It'll take too long to load into the major city aetherlyte, so I expect most people would wait by the entrance or within one of the older wards. The issue is the entire server crashing from the initial rush, especially here on Balmung and other high population servers.

I don't think I'll shoot for a house, tho. Much as I'd like, it'll take months to get the money back, considering I loathe both crafting and gathering and have to earn my money the hard way. Plus, I'd be unable to decorate it with the leftover gil. Not to mention there might be an FC who'd like to have it instead.

So...I might watch the rush from a distance. See what happens. But that's about it, really.

Could always go for a Cottage, only three million. Houses go up to 20 million, if I recall. Mansions 50 millions.

I enjoy crafting, so I'll probably keep generating money until then. Additionally, since crafting/gathering is my endgame, a cottage/house/mansion is our version of raid achievements. On the other hand, a fair amount of people would just wait for the apartments. Less stress and they'll be a little bigger than FC private rooms, enough for some customization.

I already have the money for a small house + deco (8 Mil and a bunch of stuff from my old room at a fc) so I guess I'll just take the day off and rush to the plot I selected for myself. And hope noone will snatch it away, but I already made a list of plots I could buy, all close to ech other so I can just go to the next one if the first is already snatched away. I really hope it won't be though, I've been desperate to get one for months.
