As for for your other ideas, I agree with Judah, as nice as they are (and speaking as a casual RPer on Balmung myself) they're ultimately very minor additions that require a lot of resources to implement which are better spent elsewhere, so I doubt that it would ever be implemented.
But we used to be able to log in and still be in the house. My FC bought a house nearly right away. Always loved logging in and being in my house still. They took it away.
