What's your game plan to aquire a house next patch?

I'd love to try having house @ Lavender Bed no matter what grade available. Goblet is fine too...

I've had my cottage in the Lavender Beds for over a year now... think it was the very first morning personal housing was implemented.

It was a 5th class plot (or so they call it) that had been lowered to 2.1 millions, and snatched it in the morning before going to work. I got way back more just by gardening, it's not too far from the market board and over time I implemented everything you can put in a hotel room (toy box, undending journey, orchestrion, crystal and summoning bells, armoire).

So until they implement a move feature, I don't plan on upgrading to a medium for now. Quite honestly, I believe a cottage is plentiful for a single player.

I'm just waiting for the large FC's to dish out their wealth to their trusted member so they can all snap up the small houses and then resell them at double the cost to the people who genuinely want a house and not just see it as a source of gil.

That's when you report all of them. Buying and selling properties in that manner is against ToS, and they'll get banned after a single warning. GMs take it pretty seriously.

As for me, I'm going to be gunning for a small plot in the Goblet. Depending on what day of the week the patch launches, I'll either stay up until servers are online again, or just get up early for it.

Kinda annoyed that houses are getting 50% more expensive on "poor" servers like mine, but I digress.

1. Park at the entrance before maintenance, and turn down graphics to minimise loading screen times.
2. Forego sleep and hammer the server starting an hour or so before scheduled maintenance end, because as a Balmungian, I have to -_-
3. Rush to my preferred plots as fast as possible, then my alternatives if necessary, all the while praying to every single deity that ever existed, so I can buy a house for my FC.
4. Sleep.
5. Report every single trashbag I see who is reselling plots for higher prices for at least a week.

I'm trying to remember what they did last time when housing came out and then the when they added new wards as far as how it worked... Does anyone remember? Did they do the patch to add it first but turn on the purchasing ability and depreciation timers in a future update? It seems like it might make sense to let people wander about first to see what they want.

Those of you looking to get one, don't forget they flip the map between ward 1 and ward 2, so looking at the map for ward 3 might not help. If you can figure out the new house number though, that might help you find the spot you have in mind. I assume the new wards will have the same amount of housing spaces as the other wards (so you can use that to figure out the new number maybe). The layout will be the same likely too. It's just a strong chance they will flip the map sideways or something again on the user interface. I think it has to do with making the walkway from one ward to the next connect. Can't have 2 north exits for instance or otherwise it becomes like the lost woods in legend of zelda lol...

I agree it would be better if it was limited to one house per account. It seems some more oversight would be helpful since people seem to care about housing quite a bit. It's rather limited AND people could have 16 houses per account if they tried (one personal and one fc house per each 8 possible characters). I mean, personally I think it would be better if they'd cost more too so that would limit people from buying more than one for themselves too but I guess that would limit people that have less gil. In the end, a "black friday sale" type housing plan seems to put everyone on a similar playing ground. I feel bad for the people that will be at work/school though. I will probably be not home either. I guess no matter what they do it's probably not going to work well for everyone.

The map layout has always been the same for housing plots 1-30, even when they previously added new wards.
The subdivision map layout (plots 31-60) is a version of the main ward, but rotated slightly, yet is still the same for every other subdivision.

It's safe to assume that you can pre-plan your route to the plot you want to buy, based on the current housing maps.

I do have to agree on the cap some people are suggesting. If you have a house on your account (or at least that server) they should be locked for the first week or two. Would be big help especially for those people who only have the one character and are looking.

I gurantee I've already got my report button ready. Reporting bots gets little done, but people who are knowingly doing it to screw over people and can be punished, I sure will.

Pray. Last patch, Balmung crashed due to everyone trying to mass log in. I wouldn't be surprised if that happens after.
