How To Access expansion if no one is doing Story Quest anymore?

I feel like i Just wasted 20 bucks. I'm coming back to the game and I'm like, ok yea, I gotta catch up with story quest to do Expac I guess. But then I get to Rock-solid Protection and I have to use Duty to do Qarn lvl 35 but ofcourse no one is doing this so I basically cant play the game?
Seems really broken to me and I assume SE wont give my money back.

If you have time to wait an hour the DF will probably find a party eventually. If not, try to find a friendly FC who can help.

There's plenty of players doing their "leveling" roulette. I would suggest queuing up as your Scholar in order to minimize the wait time, and if worse comes to worse, you can always look for a lv60 to run you through it.

In terms of the topic of having to do the MSQ to reach Heavensward content, it's something that was debated over heavily. While I agree that the hump can seem difficult to climb, the story would make no sense if you just suddenly walked into Ishgard.

I never had problems like that, that's why the leveling roulette exists. DF was always short waits for me as a tank.

Make sure you choose multiple languages in your DF. A friend of mine started playing recently and was complaining about hour long queues. I then realized his DF was set to French only (we're from Montreal).

You could put up a PF, there are probably other people like you interested in completing the duty; by doing so, you could even get some players that just join because willing to help you.

Qarn is not the only duty that locks main story, there will be lots more as you progress.

Join duty finder and put on all languages, Every dungeon is being ran daily by alot of people, even guildhest and trials are still very common due to the roulettes!

I had no trouble getting into Qarn @lv35 when it became available. I ran it four times and queued as healer as well as DPS. Queuing as tank will likely get you in there instantly. So if you're 50, then it would seem you have neglected the MSQ even when you were playing before.

That said, it should get a little better because Qarn is not a very popular dungeon due to the insta-kill mechanics that heavily rely on DPS to manage. People not using DF will still get it via roulette, so consider this particular instance a bit of a larger bump on your road to catching up with the MSQ. As mentioned to you before, queue as SCH to reduce the wait time.
