Dark Knight hate?

Oddly enough i've never experienced anything quite like what I found out today, probably me just whining or something, but rather when I was doing Singularity Reactor roulette I found myself in a rather odd party. I myself being a DRK, noticed a warrior in the party with better gear than myself so I sat back and popped Darkside ready to start the battle. But the next thing I know they're telling me to pull, of course I was just about to ask why? When a DPs pulled Thordan, so I scrambled a little out of it after having to rush at the boss. My mindset wasn't there so even when told to pop Grit I didn't, and so we played without a MT. Once we defeated the boss, the WAR player says something along the lines of: "I don't tank for edgelord Dark Knights, that only have leveled Dark to 60." What was up with that?

Well that may be, but is it really wrong to not want to play any other class or take the time to level them to 60? Honestly I really enjoy the way a DRK plays, and it is quite enjoyable to say the least. I know DRK is the worst of the three tanks, but... does that warrant attacking me for playing it?

Nope. Always play what you like most. Just some loser who only cares about best class. You'll meet quite a few WAR with that mentality. "Gotta play best class, or not at all".

Ah... I've never really met anyone like that before, so it threw me off a little. Sure i've met people that called me out when I first started, but that hasn't happened much. Sometimes I love this community and other times I really just want to quit. It's a hit or miss for sure, least the Duty Finder roulettes mean you never have to meet with people from them again... usually.

That's a good point. I've heard ff14 is more tame than most MMOs. That's pretty sad.

the topic feels more in the general discussion of the forum than a server one.

with that said. as i have switched to dark knight as my main tank. i have noticed a increase of being main tank with a warrior. off tank with a paladin. with that at times the warrior can output more damage in deliverance if played right that i have noticed. (not 100% though just assuming) so going into battles and seeing a warrior in a lvl 50 or less. you are marked off tank as warrior does not have their stance. anything past 52 though in 2 tank areas. you are considered main tank. that is just how i have experienced and perceived the roles of tanks now.

this is just my 100% opinion on the call out of what happened. after reading i was curious on your tank levels, so i looked up and see you do not have the awareness cross class. i know not everyone uses it personally as the person likes their own build to use on how it plays and feels like your own. there are actually a lot of people that only touch dark knight over all as a tank. that venue is not the greatest. with the cross class from paladin and marauder you have mitigation to help be it foresight, awareness, bloodbath. a lot of physical reductions with no crit and a heal per hit. now as i said. not everyone goes by it. though when someone sees a certain level it might come off as you might not have the skills to be main so i am going to throw you into the fire to see if you really can cope with it.

striding away from that. from what i have seen personally over all was tanks not grabbing all their cross class skills as well as healers not getting lvl 26 thaumaturge for swiftcast which is needed for a lot of content.

A lot of Warriors have that mind set just ignore them have a funny image displaying the typical Warrior player

Can someone explain Edgelord to me? I have just chosen to switch to DRK from MNK for a main. I do have all classes at 60 though.

Yeah, definitely should've been placed in the Tank forum, perhaps? But I was a little unsure of where this would be placed, regardless I have to say that it was so odd being judged for playing a DRK when, in fact the person in question had Lore gear... Makes no sense for me to MT when you'd probably take the Aggro away easily or i'd have to work even harder to do that. I can Tank pretty well, still learning yeah. But I do know that the person with better gear should always MT unless you discussed it beforehand, but there was no discussion at all it was just: "Are you going to pull?" Then random DPs pulling boss.
