Are Kupo Nuts inebriating drugs? Are they addictive?

I was going to mention the pearl clover fruit. I just remembered that from 1.0. Just a wee nibble?

I've always thought of kupo nuts as functionally similar to bamboo with pandas, namely it being the only they eat for some reason despite other food sources being available. Although there may be a reason why pandas only eat that, I'm certainly no wildlife expert.
