I agree that the updates and new abilities they gave us Paladins are awesome and your right. But i dont care too much about the lore...i dont like the look of the shield users, i personally like one handed sword users. I would just like the option is all. I get what your saying about abandoning the identity and all that. But i think giving us that option would be really nice to those who wanna be a little more unique. I dont like restrictions! lol. They dont have to change it and make it mandatory. Just give us the option for those who want it, even if its just for glamour and appearance.

The mere fact that they said (in regards to even just having an invisible shield) that they don't want it to look weird, especially when it comes to skills that use shields (Shield Lob, Bash, Swipe), just makes the idea of having a sword instead just be astronomically improbable
