I have a difficult time feeling bad for those who complain about undercutting. In my experience I've noticed those who complain are trying to sell items for obscure prices regardless and are mad they can't easily profit like they used to. For the best example, I'll go out of my way to sell glamor dispellers for a 1/4th of the price on the Markets because people will try and sell them for 3-5k each when in the shop they're worth 500gil...or selling emperor gear for 50k a pop. I let the emp go a bit because its not originally available and you have to do a quest for it (simple as it maybe)...but 50k?

For honest people being undercut, its usually not by much or for long. No one is going to lose gil making an item over and over. Usually it fits in at its cheapest by the cost of the supplies to make it.

True, you dont know who started it unless its on an item you buy a lot/watch regularly. Personally, i try to buy the one that costs 1 gil more too. I prefer the way the round number pricing looks, so i buy from the sellers who cater to that(its also how i price my stuff almost all the time).

I'm buying the more expensive item, not the cheaper one. In any case you are correct, you cannot tell who undercut who in this situation either, but let's be real. If you see an item going for 9999, and another for 10000, do you really think the latter came later? There is a chance it did from a player trying to keep the markets competitive, but the chances are so low. So I do admit, by buying the more expensive item I can deny the sale to the competitor that deserves it more, but there is that whole dog-eat-dog that I mentioned earlier. The boards are usually not nice to those who are nice. That's just my own experience. I wish it was different, and I try to be courteous in any way I can.

I am the opposite I am the 1 gil undercutter :P Although start under cutting me by a hefty amount and hey ho time to join in on the fun. Once price is low I start buying and will relist once the market has stabilised.

I sometimes list glamour dispellers and other npc items well over the npc price, if people are to lazy to check then it's not my fault :P

Selling NPC-sold items above cost of purchase is a staple tactic for steady income. Most people are lazy or ignorant of the fact that an NPC sells an item they want, and people regularly make millions off this fact. When a bunch of people realize it, the item goes down to vendor price due to undercut wars and then re-stabilizes. Then somebody notices another item making hefty profit on the MB, rinse and repeat....

I don't mind undercutting. We all do it, but when I see an item I had up for 90k get undercut by 30k or more. I want to smack them so hard. There isn't anything do be done about it though, sadly. Part of me wishes the devs would only allow undercutting in increments of say, 1,000 or less. Maybe up that based on how much the item is currently being sold for.
Hahaha that'd be awsome. Buy up all the clusters relist one for max gil. So much potential for trolling

Oh hey folks. So as we reached the end of the season my crafting self has matured a bit.

Initially the undercutting was really annoying, but as I gained more and more gil while having less and less stuff to spend it on, my tolerance for the undercuters became higher. Now I mostly ask just the question "Do I want to sell it quickly or not?" As I usually don't craft much unless multiple items are needed to be crafted I also don't care much about losing few 100k here and there. The value of gil kinda decreased for me => Happy life of not needing gil Well... we will see how it goes the next season!

btw. Crafted weapons coming soon - HYPE HYPE HYPE! :3

The main reason why the Party Finder is not working for the harder content and so many groups disband after few wipes is caused by the players who ignore the comments.

Getting to the phase XYZ once does not mean you are ready to join parties to do XYZ.

Parties should spend most of the time doing the phase that is written in the comment not trying to get there.

I just cry when the price of an item drops from 400k to 40k in a matter of 2 hours due to super undercutting
