But it wouldn't be fair to supply glamours to only half of the arcanists out there (summoner) and not to the other half (scholar).

Even though we choose different paths, we all share the same roots, and still remember where we came from.

I would really like SCH to get carby, when/if SMN does. Later, when SMN has gotten their last actual egi, I would hope the dev team could see the positive impact the system has on pet classes, and expand more glamour options onto SCH (Fairy palette swaps, possible male fairy) and MCH bit options.

Personally, I want carby back. But allot of people want some other options, so if the devs are willing to give more people a shot at customizing their pet, more power and appreciation to them. :3

Will it be more than just a Egi Gloumor system though? Because I'm not sure I want Shiva Egi to just have the same attacks as Garuda Egi even if it is a glamour I want her to be unique and special. This hole Glamour Egi system just sound lazy to me like it sounds like they really can't be ass to put the work in and make decent new EGIs that have a real reason to be used. That's if I am correct about the whole system.

I could be wrong, but I believe SCH may be getting Carby along with the SMN. As far as MCH goes, I don't believe they have been mentioned at all.

I doubt that SCH is getting any love in the near-term. Giving SMN Carby is relatively easy - all the animations are already there for Summon and Summon II, with the exception of the Enkindle moves. They'll need to whip up some new animations for Summon III, but that's just one Carby to deal with.

For SCH, they'd need to create new animations for each of Selene's and Eos's moves.

I'm afraid you may be setting yourself up for disappointment. The new pet glamours are exactly that: glamour. They do not change the functionality of the pets any more than glamouring a swimsuit over your plate mail changes the functionality of the plate mail. Compare Emerald Carbuncle to Garuda-Egi - they have exactly the same moves with exactly the same effects, but perform them in different ways.

Most likely they will have different animations more appropriate to their appearance. For example, if Leviathan-Egi were to be the glamour for Titan-Egi, it might replace Mountain Buster (Titan spins, hitting nearby enemies for increased enmity) with Tail Whip (Leviathan swims in a circle, hitting nearby enemies for increased enmity). Earthen Fury would be replaced with Tidal Wave, leaving a pool of turbulent water instead of a pool of razed earth.

But brand new abilities with different effects? No, that is very unlikely. If they had any intention of doing that, they could have given us new summons altogether. No, SE has decided to go the route of building up the SMN herself, not the SMN's pets. It is quite likely that the three pets we have are all we're ever going to get, though it's possible we may one day get additional abilities for those pets (there's still four free slots on the pet crosshotbar, after all!).

So seems like summoner is no longer about pets at all. It's only main reason why I levelled summoner all the way 50 once I get it to level 60. That's it for me when it comes to that Job. I love summoner because of the pets. But in this game they have just become something I never thought would happen. In a FF game I'm very said about this. The Summon system could of been so much more.

Only summoner has a reason to receive more summon pets, but scholar and mech have none, other than, "If they get it, so should we." If you want to convince Square you need a stronger argument than the ones you are currently posting.

The reason why they are getting pet glamours is because during the 2.0 series Yoshi P. and the development team teased at Summoner's getting more summons, but when 3.0 came and summoners realized they are not getting new pets because of valid reasons they were a little discouraged. In time they asked for a Egi glamour system and square realizing their mistake agreed.

Just want to say that i think the whole "revert back to carby" thing that i seem to read everywhere, look, feel and taste like a bad joke.
As a summoner, i think we are here because of the lack of new summons. Reverting back to something we had and laid aside, will not bring us anywhere we want. I mean, we grew, since Carbuncle; didn't we?
Will the phrase "Please, look backward to it." mean something? Nope!

But that's just me.

If given the option I would take carby over the hot mess that is Garuda Egi anyday. But I'm looking forward to a shiva and leviathan Egi most but I'm sure they will be rolled into the stupid 3 roles we have so I will never get to use them whenever I want. I am HOPING they do away with the 3 roles for the glamour system because then they shouldn't bother with it at all.
