Anyone had someone make a copy of their character on another server?

Anyone had someone make a copy of your character on another server? I don't mean a clone in like seen in some post that RMT doing (oh maybe should look into this more). Anyways I was looking around on lodestone and noticed someone made a character nearly identical to mine just on another server. (Cactuar and Balmung ones belong to me) I noticed there is a character now on Jenova server that same name, race, gender even same hair color. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Well if you've used that name in a previous mmo, it could be a friend trying to reach out to you, or mayhaps a fan trying to keep the name alive.

Could also be a person that doesn't like you and so they've created an alt with that name in an effort to keep you off the server, emulating your look to rub things in.

Or also, while slim, someone who created it without knowing you and just happen to have the same taste as you?

I think if it's an identical clone, with both name and appearance, then it's probably someone who secretly admires your toon, (not necessarily you; but your toon), in some way shape or form. Wither it be flattening or creepy though is up to you to decide.

In regards to your question, "Has this ever happened to you?"
No, it hasn't; however, I do have some friends that have had similar experiences.
Unfortunately they never managed to get in contact with the clone owner.

I think whoever it is, is trying to get your attention or possibly ruin your reputation on another server. (These sorts of situations while elaborate, are not unheard of). Sadly, as creepy as the situation is... there's nothing anyone can do about it. Creeps will be creepy.

Most I can suggest is; depending on how much it bothers you. Create an alt on any other remaining servers to reserve your name.

At the end of the day though. It's more than likely just somebody who is a fan of your toon with name, and wanted to play being you.

That's quite strange but i wouldn't worry about it. Someone probably just liked your name and character so it's kind of like a compliment. If you're worried about someone impersonating you, you can keep all of your characters showing on your forum profile and mention your servers in the description.

I've never met a copy of my character but have seen a few similar. It's probably because the character creator is quite limited.

Caex Vaeriar doesn't exist anywhere else, but there's a number of people that use the word Caex in their name (not many, but enough.)

I can tell a number of them are like me. For example, Caex Fethos exists on another server, which is literally "Sword Shield." Unsurprisingly, he's a Gladiator to start.

Caex Vaeriar is "Sword Dancer", whcih pulls from the Draconic Translator I use as well as from Tales of Symphonia's Sword Dancer.
