    Challenging personal quests

    Currently there is a very low amount of content except the savage raids that provide challenges for core or midcore players. Would it be possible to add a set of sidequests where you need to overcome a significant challenge to proceed through the quests?

    By significant I'm intending something around Maat and Raubahn in old XI. I'm sure there are elements of game or lore that can be explored this way without being in the way of the MSQ.

    Okay in that case, is there a reaosn why Krile, Y'stolta and Thancred seem to be AWOL after 3.2? Usualy the Scions stick around a map after the MSQ but Thancred is nowhere to be seen and apart form Sephirot, neither are the other 2

    A lot of the MSQ cutscenes/dialogue seem to be more pointed towards the player character being female. Tenderly holding Haurchefant's hand and longingly watching as he passes, getting the feeling that Ayermic is starting to fancy you in a romantic way, Thancred, etc. Have there been any thoughts on having different cutscenes/dialogue based on the player character's gender?

    Something I've seen a lot of talk about in the fan community at large is the impact of deaths in the storyline, the most commonly discussed one I see being Haurchefant's valiant sacrifice. I know that him being revived somehow has been brought up by many people, despite the fact that his death was very well foreshadowed and had a good payoff to it. How did your team react when you heard how badly some people wanted/want him back? Did anyone in the writing team want to bring him back? If so, did they have their own reasons? Additionally, has anyone commented on people's reactions to some other character deaths that weren't quite deaths? The fans had quite a reaction to 3.2's reveal of Minfilia's fate, was the team satisfied with how the fans reacted? It seemed NA/EU fans took the news a bit...differently than the JPN region fans did, if I read right? Thoughts on it?

    The Dark Knight jobquests were the first to predetermine certain feelings of the player character, which before was a blank slate for the players to project their own thoughts and ideas onto.
    It was decided that we sometimes feel used and angry and a lot of "I don't wanna do this anymore" has piled up in regards to helping others. That might have been a problem for roleplayers or just people in general who had a very strong idea how their character was in mind.
    At the same time though, that was very engaging and interesting. Are there any plans to give the player character more of a profile like the DRK quests did (not necessarily in a dark way like this, just in general)?

    Will we ever revisit, and possibly free, Tiamat? Her eternal purgatory out in Azys Lia is definitely one of the sadder things within the game to me.

    When writing the quests and scenarios, besides the past FF game references, which other sources of inspiration do you use for your themes? Manga? Movie? Literary works? For example the DRK quests lv 30 to 50(the character's dark side) and lv 50 to 60 (uncovering the dark knight's true power: to protect the ones he or she loves).

    A lot of players found in 3.0 that they used up all the MSQ and field zone Side Quests on one job all the way to 60, not for the experience points but so they could enjoy the story as quick as possible when the expansion came out.
    That left it really difficult to level other jobs. It also caused a lot of players to feel burnt out (such as from the amount of side quests, see: moogles in moghome). As an aside that would have caused a lot of players simply to click through all the story.
    Now, after doing the quests, a lot of players don't go back to the lower expansion zones like Coerthas Western Highlands because they can jump ahead to 51/52 through roulettes or xp elsewhere.

    Therefore:

    Would it be possible in the future to reform/repurpose the majority of Side Quests into Job Quest categories. That way players can learn dribs and drabs of the overarching lore as they level each job and have extra ways to level those jobs. It will also entice players to level more jobs so they can experience more quests at a more peaceful rate.
