I really have to ask the point of these two post were....

Can we have a topic that doesn't involve personal feeling and actually stays on the matter at hand? I feel like these forums are basically gone to people trying to instigate in every situation they can rather than to discuss. Don't start this.

AV can be rough for new healers compared to most other ARR pre-50 dungeons. A lot of things can go wrong and every role pretty much has to be far more aware than in other dungeons to keep everything smooth. Even dps standing in the wrong spot when doing positionals can cause a wipe in first room (same with tanks or healers). You have a boss that can basically destroy you in 1 hit. That's pretty uncommon I believe besides in Qarn first boss.

    Is what I read there.

What you're posting is not bringing anything positive to this discussion. At all. You're in a pissing contest, and the only contestant is you. In other words, all you're doing is making a mess that also happens to smell nasty.

Back on topic, yes OP, AV is a heckuva challenge. I like going there every now and then as a re-test of my skills. You get a challenging dungeon without all the fun (and powerful) level 50 abilities you get in places like WK hard or Pharos Sirius. Good on you for challenging yourself.

My experience as a healer tells me that the next big challenge is at level 57, in the Vault. But if you can handle AV at-level, then you'll be able to handle the Vault at-level.

Sure, I may sound elitist, but i am just putting the op on her place. The way the op explain her entire exprience is just sound to me like bragging right, its her first time, she screw up and still get 2 commendation.

Right. Putting her "on" her place. By helping to extend a same-day thread to four pages. While also talking about all the exploits you and your healers accomplish. I mean, just make a thread for yourself right?

No, wait. That'd be crazy. Much better to stink up some other thread. I mean, you were practically required to click on it. You could just *feel* the bragging coming through the thread title ya? And you had a duty, nay, an OBLIGATION to come in and put her in her place.

Well, to that I say a hearty thank you random forum-dweller-with-a-terrible-forum-and-equally-terrible-in-game-name. Truly what this game needs is more people putting up-and-coming healers down so's they don't get too uppity. Wouldn't want people to come in and have some kind of discussion around constructive criticism or personal growth. That would be downright heretical.

I am okay with healer wanting advice, but this topic is just down right bragging, and I must intervene.

The point of my posts was to show the OP that not everyone is a judgemental elitist, and offer some support. I really thought that was self explanatory?...

First of all, the OP isn't my friend, just clarifying that because you seem to think the only reason I'm saying what I'm saying is because we're friends outside of the forum or something.

So, you're complaining about the OP making a thread about her AV success, and just sharing her story with us.. with that sentiment, surely the "Tales from the duty finder thread" is also irrelevant in your eyes, considering everyone uses the DF all the time! why make a thread about it? People can make threads about what they want, just because it irks you for some reason, doesn't mean that's the common consensus.

You must "intervene?" Are you some kind of post vigilante that goes around smacking down people who think they've accomplished something? I haven't touched Aurum Vale since my first run through with Scholar but even I remember it being especially difficult. This is not about how you "test" your healers. Frankly, any healer that's willing to put up with your elitist bigotry isn't worth their weight in salt. Remove yourself from this conversation, you obviously have nothing to add to it.

Now, to prevent this from becoming an off-topic rant about how elitist players ruin communities and are shameful people who should learn to hold their tongues.

Gemina, getting a good run through like that is an accomplishment, especially when you're a healer. The game finally starts to throw enemies at you that have different mechanics, like a boss that has AoE attacks that aren't indicated. I was absolutely miserable when I first took on Aurum Vale, I was too focused on watching my parties HP instead of the fight and this dungeon trained me out of that. It's also one of the first dungeons to make the healer participate in a mechanic more complex than "move somewhere else" or "stand still." You're required to juggle healing, watching enemies, and paying attention to your own stacks and it's kind of thrown at you all at once, and it's good that you have to because the game requires this from this point on. Good job. I hope to heal with you some day.

.. Now it certainly got past the point of merely disagreeing. But unfortunately, due to the nature of online communities, this was kinda inevitable..

Gemina, there might be a lot of steps ahead, but if you take them one at a time, and can handle the crap people throw at you, you'll get there, no doubt about it. You do have the analytical skills of a good player, but don't be too afraid to make a mistake every now and then. It might take a while before you're at a point you can shrug off what people say about you, but if you want it, you'll get there.

Also, if you haven't yet, watch this :P
