Game crashes during loading screen after character selection

Yesterday, I logged out in front of my FC house and shut my PC down for a few hours. From the point onwards from when I got back, the game keeps crashing whenever I select my character.

There's no numeral error from in the game itself, just a windows pop-up saying that FFXIV has stopped working. I've tried switching from dx11 to dx9 and back again, rebooting, nothing works.

I also asked on the reddit subforum, and they said I should either completely reinstall the game as it might (somehow) contain a corrupted file, OR that it might simply be an issue with the housing wards. Someone mentioned that they had a friend who had the same thing happen and couldn't log back in until a GM moved him out of the housing ward into one of the main cities. I was wondering if we could try that.

I've booted up the game and reset it to default settings, assuming it could maybe have been something in my settings that was corrupted. It still crashed.

So I decided I'd spent a couple of hours completely reinstalling the game, and after the ~4 hours of download/patching, it's still crashing. So at this point I genuinely don't know what to do and am awaiting a GM to teleport me out of the ward to see if that'll solve anything. No idea how to contact them other than these forums, so I'll just keep an eye on this thread hoping it'll be read soon.

My FC mates can see me when I try logging in, but my status automaticly goes to "bad connection" and that's probably when I crash. I'm standing next to the marketboard in the top left of subward 5 mist.
