Valor Set Issue

Hi there, I've recently started playing again after quite the long break. When I started playing again, I was barely Lv.16 Gladiator, anyway;

Yesterday I've finished the Lv.45 Paladin Jobquest and obtained the Gallant Armor. I saw that on Lv.50 you get that Valor and Gallant Surcoat. Wondering, I started some research and found out that I'm supposed to get the Valor Armor from the Lv.45 Jobquest.

My question now is, why did I get Gallant instead, and where/how do I obtain the Valor gear?

Don't worry, it's not a bug or anything, but merely just an example of content moving on. The original Job quests naturally ended at level 50, and the 45 quest was designed to reward you four pieces of Artifact Armour (AF), with the final piece given to you for completing the final level 50 quest (this is the 'Gallant' set).

However, with the level cap being raised with the Heavensward expansion, SE added the 'AF1.5' set (the 'Valor' set) to the Job quests as well which was formerly gained through trading 'tomes of mythology' from a vendor in Revenant's Toll - this more powerful set was then given to new players doing their Job quests after HW's release so as to be able to help them 'catch up' to those who have been playing since the beginning.

So don't worry, it's just SE giving you an extra helping hand and older content being somewhat left behind.

To add to that, the Valor gear (iLvl 55?) is actually placed in your inventory as you pick it up through doing the quest. You'll be able to equip everything as you pick it up in the world, which will give you a pretty substantial boost. The Gallant gear (iLvl 90, req lvl 50) is rewarded at the end of the quest.

EDIT: As a note, if you care about the story, I really hope you like swords.

I think you guys got it twisted, I got the Lv.45(iLvl 50) GALLANT pieces during my Lv.45 quest. The Lv.50 quest rewards me with both, the Gallant Surcoat and Valor Surcoat. The Valor Surcoat is the stronger set, Lv.50(iLvl 90), which I'm supposed to get. Or did I get something wrong?

Or is it a display bug and do I actually get the entire Lv.50 Valor Set after finishing the Lv.50 Jobquest instead of just the Surcoat?

You sure you didn't get the Valor Set? The Valor set is given as the actual quest reward (while the Gallant set is acquired by actually doing the quest and picking up the items)

I equipped the Gallant Stuff right after picking it up during quest, so I didn't even bother to check my inventory...

Try not to feel too bad. I'm pretty sure I did the exact same thing on my first go 'round. XD
