So if an FC decides to queue 5/8 and gets matched with a couple of trolls, they should have to just live with it? What if you're 7/8 and you need to actually kick a member of that FC because they disconnect? What if they're 4/8 and 2 vote yes and 2 vote no? Sometimes I'd rather get rid of someone but a friend would rather try to work around them and vice versa; why should the fact that we're in an FC or a linkshell together completely invalidate either one of those?

I agree with this, but instead of putting together everyone who happens to have FC/ls connections into one vote, just have the system keep track of who were in the same partial party at the time of queuing. That way, premades made up of players only on each other's flists don't get separate votes, and players from the same ls who just happened to end up in the same 24 man raid (this has happened to me before) don't end up pooled together as one vote when they weren't part of a premade party.

As a non-white American, I get people saying 'just joking' after saying things designed to make me feel less human than them, all the time...

    It's never a joke.

So its best to just not say it to begin with. And I try to make a point of not saying the same kinds of comments back.

I don't know if American servers have more or less of these various problems - because my experience is limited to the American servers. But unless you're the SE employee that analyzes all of this data... its probably nest to not go trumping it all and about...

Yes, I think your suggestion improves mine. But it would also have to include anyone 'manually added' later (I forget if that is even possible... I'm in this thread on theory, having only recently returned to this game and my last experience with endgame DF was a LONG time ago).

On the topic US Servers vs EU servers
I have played on US servers in other games and then switched to EU servers or the servers got merged and there definitely is a difference between the two regions.

Players are more edgy, faster to judge and to feel offended with anything that is being said. In general, EU people (especially non-native English speakers) are more direct and don't hold their punches. This leads to the US players being offended as they are often not used to dealing with criticism that actually tells them that they are doing something wrong.

Also, US players tend to be more prude. One example, one game I played had US and EU servers merged at some point. One day, we wanted to run a raid with our regular pre-made group (all EU players) but we needed to pick up additional players due to some people not being online. So we recruited people, which happened to be US players. No problem there. Well, it was late at night and we soon started making raunchy jokes via in-game voice chat which lead the US players to feel offended and leave. Mind you, none of the jokes were directed at any people, it was simple stuff like "using sticks to beat the hole" kind of stuff completely referring to raid mechanism only.

I want to point out that these are not prejudiced but things I have witnessed as a EU citizen playing on EU AND US servers. I often pick US servers simply because I prefer English to my native language (German).

    To the OP
All this being said, I believe that if you are being kicked frequently in the manner you describe, something is probably wrong that you don't notice. A run feeling smooth to you does not mean that things can't be wrong for others.

I have always thought it was absolutely absurd that vote abandon kicks everyone out of a duty, even the people that wanted to remain.

It isn't like the people who remain can't change their minds later -- since the group wouldn't be full anymore, they'd be able to leave later without penalty.

Also, I can't remember if they changed this or not, but IMO anyone that tries a vote abandon only for it to be denied should not be allowed to attempt vote abandon again for the rest of the instance. (If the group later decides they want to abandon after all, someone else would be able to initiate vote abandon instead.) I'm sure everyone remembers That One Guy in a CT raid where the group was new or otherwise unpolished, and maybe had a wipe or two on each boss... and after each and every wipe, That One Guy would try to vote abandon, sometimes repeatedly immediately after the previous one is rejected, because he can't stand any form of failure yet is too chicken shite to just leave the instance himself and eat a penalty. This isn't as much of an issue as it used to be, in my experience, but it's something that shouldn't be tolerated or allowed to begin with.

Huh? I haven't seen that person say things like this in many threads at all, first time they even mention it lol. Either way its off topic and the stuff the OP talks about well, happens everywhere, who cares if they are americans or not, and some people simply are way too butthurt when a guy say ''typical american''.

You can click their name and view forum post history. And yes, almost of his comments, on a wide range of threads, are about racism.
