What's going on with all the small fcs?

Hi everyone. So I transfered from a legacy server to this one and was looking for a fc. So I started to stalk the s#!t outa people by checking their FC Profiles. And what I rly wondered is that there are no bigger FCs. Everyone is just in a small fc with not even 10 people online. So I asked a few people about it and someone said to me "everyone wants to do their own thing". I must say this really confuses me a bit. Is this rly true or did I just didn't see a bigger fc? I loved to be in a bigger fc with people who were the main crafters/gatheres and like 4/5 raidgroups and people chatting. How do you see it?

There's saints there fairly big. I can only assume with small fc's being one of them is that there's alot of languages english/deutch/french/ plus myriad of other 'European languages,' but generally I'm not sure.

Simple the system works best with small FC's. If your a dedicated crafter that want all his classes with crafted 170 gear penta melded even 4 Airships are not enough. If your in a big FC and the leaders are not given out Zu mounts to their members your being used to make FC points and they feed your scraps in the form of FC actions. You can keep up Lv 2 FC actions 24/7 with less then 10 active members in an FC.

FCs are incredibly hard to run and maintain. Everyone wants something different. Creating and maintaining events is difficult as people have a tendency to not show up, not take it seriously, cause drama or something of that sort. And herding cats is just not for everyone.

If you have a few people who are dedicated and are willing to cooperate and work together an FC can grow large. But that isn't the easiest thing to do either. I was in a good sized FC and the leader finally kicked everyone and now just uses the FC for him and his rl friends. He had weekly events, constant buffs, website, voice chat, perks like free gear 1-15, old content runs, etc but no one would help him, people wouldn't show for events, some joined just to get thru coil or the ex primals and drop. Heck we couldn't even get 2 other ppl to come to the FC house to help with workshop crafting when 15+ were online. He spent all his time recruiting and leading events to the point he couldn't enjoy the game himself.

So FC management isn't for all. If you have at least 3 people running things, sure you can get huge. But that's fairly hard to get, from what I have experienced since arr launch.

Exactly this. So many people will tell you that they're willing to work together and contribute, in different forms, but ultimately most of it is nothing but hot air. It's really about having 2-3 people to run things and being fortunate enough to find 15-30 active members who actually care, are unlikely to cause drama and don't feel entitled to literally everything - they don't even have to help with organizing, being part of a team is more than enough. That concept is already very rare in small FCs and I'd say, at least from my experience, almost nonexistent in really big FCs with 100~ members.

It's because this game has no FC content...so why build a big FC? Everything is done in the boring duty finder and even although my fc always does that stuff with premade PT, it's still only 4 man content mostly...

Maybe if they actually kept diadem updated or gave us open world content that required an FC (like how xi required linkshells) you'd see larger ones. Right now fc is just a glorified chat channel...:/
