why does it take ages to get into a pvp match?

several nights have been wasted waiting for a single pvp match, i have literally sat there waiting for 2 hours and not got into a single match, how are we expected to increase our pvp level or get pvp gear if the match setup is broken

What pvp match are you trying to do? Need to be more specific.

The answer is simple: Not enough players.

In frontlines, it's not enough players in any of the grand companies.
In the feast, it's not enough players in a particular role.

The whole thing is compounded by different languages and, in the case of the feast, rating. But in the end, it's always a lack of players.

Be nice if they allowed to queue on multiple classes...while I'm sitting on my BRD waiting in queue, I could easily play on my WAR as well if the is waiting for a tank. Rather than me withdrawing and queue testing on another class.

Yeah... Square should make pvp cross servers... I mean, not only 1 datacenter, but maybe 2 or 3... Merge servers... would be nice.. More players per server = more fun...

It's mostly because the game's PvP isn't very popular, resulting in a relatively small number of players who actually regularly queue for it.

Everyone's individual reasons for why they don't play it much will be different, of course. For me, they would probably need to rework the entire structure from the ground up, as I've tried to get into it numerous times and the overall experience just doesn't line up with what I want. It always bugs me because I rather enjoy PvP in a general sense, but FFXIV's just doesn't work for me.

I wonder if SE could set up a sort of play lobby for PvP... So you queue for Feast or whatever, and it plops you in a "practice" game while all sides fill up, then when they do it starts the real game... Would make queue times more entertaining and thus more bearable... Though unbalanced Feast/etc. matches, even if they're not serious matches, might turn people away instead... I've always wanted duels partly for this reasons, I might be stuck waiting on a PvP queue, but I'd be able to duel with friends/strangers in Wolves' Den Pier or something... If I could PvP while I wait for PvP queues, I'd happily wait...

My queues never last more than three minutes or so. That's on a slow day.
