If people do 'fine' in casual content, then they shouldn't have any issues being monitored by a parser, no?

Unfortunately, those who are doing the "monitoring" arent really using it as a helpful tool. For every person using it as a helpful tool, there are at least three people being unhelpful tools. Either to stroke their own ePeen, by being condescending pricks tp attack those they deem inferior, or simply to try and segregate themselves from the "baddies". There are enough systems in the game for people to use in order to be jerks to their fellow player, we really dont need to try and put out a fire by pouring gasoline on it.

A personal parser that you alone can see is fine, one that is essentially used to see other peoples parses is a recipe for abuse. Though no one really wants a personal parser but a small minority, the rest want public parsers so they can ostracize the unworthy under the guise of "helpful tool".

I won’t say that parser harassment doesn’t occur; I’m sure it does even though I have only seen one instance of it in my two years of playing this game. But to say that for every 1 person using a parser for good, there are 3 that are using it to be “meanie poopie heads” is made-up; you have nothing quantitative to back it up. If you want to make solid arguments, do some research and get some solid numbers. Making things up just makes you look foolish.

I don't have to counter argue someone figuratively asspulling a, "for every one person using a parser as its intended, three people will be mean with it," statistic.

Counter-arguing something someone literally made up for their argument is a huge waste of time.

If we're going to use anecdotal evidence, I've been in multiple Shinryu and a few Savage pugs with it being made apparent they're parsing yet not a single "condescending" remark. In fact, I more often find people take offense when told they aren't performing well regardless of the tone used. Look at the number of self admitted casual players in this thread generalizing all raiders who parse as toxic or advocating they should be banned instantly. Is it because all raiders are toxic or perhaps they're nervous about being held accountable?

And a personal parse won't accomplish anything. People we just make PFs demanding you post your numbers in chat.

Im not generalizing, I did say there were some who used it in a constructive manner but there are more than use it for nonconstructive purposes. Also your point at the bottom just strengthens the "casual players" arguments against parsing than any of the people advocating for them.
