It's anecdotal, but its existence and a lot of reddit posts cast doubt on the idea that bad play in casual content is rare even if it doesn't objectively prove anything. That would be the reason it was brought up likely since that thread is very active.

Purely your own experience. Just like no one can prove it isn't rare you can't claim everyone does "fine" in casual content and that bad play in casual content doesn't exist (frequently or no) just because of your own personal experience.

They cannot prove it isn't rare just as you cannot prove it is rare so you aren't making any logical sense by trying to claim it is rare. You can't prove anything either.
